From women's sufferage to union strikes, from the Mendocino Whale War and the Ocean Protection Movement to today's Trail Stewards and No Kings crusaders, the Mendocino Coast has long embraced artists who speak truth to power with their work. Mendocino's Kelley House Museum, repository of local history, opens a survey of art created here for social and political movements over multiple decades. The exhibit shines a light on anti-establishment defiance, a defiance that has shaped coast culture to this day.
